-Christmas Bunny-

I finished up Samantha's Christmas bunny.  I have been working on this project on and off for several weeks, and it was really enjoyable.  I ordered the kit because I wanted the felt colors to be just right, and I love the Liberty print for the dress.  Doesn't she look like such a respectable and well groomed bunny?

There are such lovely little details- like the cute little knitted cape.

The boots were the most fiddly part to put together.  I have to be careful with hand sewing because I seem to get tendonitis in my thumb of all places if I do too much.  I made one boot and had to wait a week to make the other since my thumb started bugging me again!  Who knew crafting could be so dangerous? ;0)

I dipped the whiskers in liquid starch to help them stand up better, and I put a little bit of creamy blush on her cheeks.

Now, of course, my older girls are asking for their own bunny.  Maybe for Easter...

Hi. *waves sheepishly*  It has been awhile since I have checked in here.  I am still sewing, knitting, etc.  Once you stop blogging for a bit it is so much harder to get back into posting again.  So much was going on and it made sense to drop this, but I miss sharing projects and just being in this more personal space.  Plus, I fear I am boring people on Facebook with my crafty shares. ;0)

I always seem to have like twenty projects going on at once.  I am so easily distracted.  One of the things I am working on is this little bunny for Samantha for Christmas.  This was my first time making a hand sewn toy, and it wasn't as difficult as I thought.  Now I am just working on Miss Maggie's accessories.  I love that you can buy other little patterns to accessorize her further.  I definitely want to knit her the little coat.  I love everything Alicia Paulson.  She has such a lovely aesthetic.

I made this little bunny for my nephew for my birthday.  Isn't he cute?!  Of course, I am way late in getting this off, but luckily one year olds don't have much of an idea of what is going on anyway. ;0p

This is a pattern by Retro Mama called Betsy and Basil.  The last time I made softies, there was a lot of trying to turn itty bitty arms and legs.  It wasn't really my cup of tea, but this pattern fortunately doesn't have that issue. ;0)  The pattern calls for corduroy which I thought I had, but must have thought wrong because I could not find it.  So I just substituted a plain tan solid, and I think it worked just fine.  For the accent pieces I used some Heather Ross dots and stripes.

Hopefully, he will be loved by his future owner!

I made the girls these little dolls for their Easter baskets. It is a Bit of Whimsy pattern called the Mae Doll. I actually won this pattern in a giveaway by Katie about a year ago. These were my first softies. The pattern was great, and I am pleased with how they turned out. However, my appreciation for softie makers has gone way up. Turning and stuffing those little legs and arms took forever! We named them Mary and Maggie after Mary Magdalen, as she was the first person to see Jesus after He rose.


As you can see, they were a big hit! Makes it all worth it. Is there anything sweeter than a freshly woken up face, messy bed head, and excitement over their Easter basket? I think not. Juliana has been anticipating Easter since the beginning of Lent, and three days later she is still carrying her Easter basket everywhere and waking up early just to look at it.

Felicity really got into the hunt this year, and she calls her basket her "bacon". Where is my bacon?!? Took me awhile to figure out that one.
