Raw Edged Squares Baby Quilt

I finished the baby girl quilt that I have been working on, and I really love it. I want to make one for me now! I fell in love with this quilt on Twin Fibers. I even used similar colors, although mine is more pink and less orange. :0p I used mostly Anna Maria's Good Folks, some of Melissa Averino's Sugar Snap, and Jennifer Paganelli Flower Power, and mixed in a couple of other pink and purple scraps I had. The binding I made scrappy with the Sugar Snap and some pink brocade from Flower Power.

It was an easy quilt to make. Drawing the grid for laying out the squares took the longest, but I loved how it all came together.

For the back I used fabric from Flower Power. I used two half yards and broke it up with some of the zebra. I liked how well the colors from the back coordinate with the front.

Moving on down the list...wahoo!

My first rag quilt....

I love looking through Flickr and looking at all the fabulous quilts people make. I saw some really cute rag quilts and was very tempted by how easy everyone says they are. It was! I used this tutorial, although I made my blocks a little smaller. It went together quickly. The roughest part was all the clipping. Youch! My hands hurt for a good day. :0) Next time I am going to get those special scissors. However, it was the perfect way of using up those big strips of batting leftover from other projects. I love making use of scraps.

I used Wheels by My Mind's Eye. I admit I have never paid attention to little boy fabric that much until I found out that I was going to have one. This is definitely one of my favorites right now. I backed it with a camel minky for extra softness.

I am almost done with my baby girl quilt using this tutorial. Binding is halfway done. I am sorely tempted to join this quilt-a-long. I love her pinwheel quilt.

My Everything Wallet

It all started with me losing my driver's license. I didn't really use a wallet anymore. I was using my purse organizer that basically is a wallet and more. However, I kept taking it out and not putting it back in properly and somewhere, somehow it was just... gone. Kaput. Woe is me! The DMV here is just ridiculous. Hours and hours can be spent waiting to do a five minute transaction. So, I finally got my new one, and I knew I needed to try to keep it more secure. I started looking for the perfect wallet tutorial or pattern. I found the KF Everything Wallet on Etsy, and I loved how big it was and how much it could hold. The left side has a pocket for money and a zip pocket for change, middle for cards, and the right holds my checkbook.

I used some Brown Zebra Print from Jennifer Paganelli's Flower Power. It is such a fun print, but I have only used it for accent for other projects, so it was fun to make it front and center. The middle is a fat quarter I got at our local quilt shop that didn't have the selvedge. I love the rainbow effect though. So I am happy with my new secure wallet, and the pattern was easy to follow. I didn't rip out anything! Yay.

It is also the beginning of Lent. So I have put myself on a fabric and pattern diet for the period of Lent. I just can't seem to resist buying new patterns and yummy fabric. I have a bazillion projects all ready to go, and I have to buy more? :0p Sometimes the crafting world is so overwhelming. I feel like there are so many neat patterns and fun free tutorials to try, and I want to do *all* of them. Here is what I have going on right now:

This embroidery to hang in the the girls' room.
I have the fabrics all lined up for the Claire Apron Knot Dress for Easter.
I have made one skirt for Felicity from "One Yard Wonders" and have two more to go.
I still need to baste and quilt Juliana's quilt.
I also want to put a backing of fabric on their bookcase with some lovely Darla (also from "One Yard Wonders").
I have a bunch of Authentic to make a quilt for the family room.
I bought some pretty Hope Valley fat quarters to make a Turning Twenty quilt for my bed.
I bought the Rollie Pollie pattern and some Anna Maria Horner to make for the girls' while they watch TV because they always sit on the floor.
I have material to make some kitchen curtains.

So on and so forth. I think I have enough projects just right there to last me the rest of the year! That is just *some* of them! I think I am crazy.

So this what I caught going on

...the other day between this little girl. (aka Dr. Juliana) and our little dog, Poppy. Blood pressure is looking a little high or "blue" as she put it.

How is the temp?

Definitely sick. She administers the magical medicine.

We adopted Poppy last month from our local animal shelter. I thought the girls would like her, but they luuuuu-rve her. I never knew an animal could bring such joy and fierce loyalty in such a short period. She is definitely work though. She thinks she can beat up the huge Boxers next door and likes to show how tough she is by barking constantly at them while they stare complacently at her through the fence. Yeah, I think not.

Well

I was going to go upstairs to take some pictures of some of the new pillows I made for the girls' room and this is what I found. Probably a bit more accurate of the past couple of days. This little one and I haven't been feeling too well. She disappeared after lunch upstairs, and I guess was tired. Nothing like napping on the floor with some new pillows, your favorite blankie, a paci, and dressed up like a little princess from Mexico.

I finished another little kitty pillow and a valance for their room. Now I just need to jazz up their bookcase and quilt Juliana's quilt. I keep putting it off. Quilting kills my arms and back. How do you all do it without feeling achy for days afterwards? Plus, I still don't know how I want to quilt it. Hopefully, I will have pictures of their room up by next Monday. It really has been fun to see it all come together.
