Finish It Up- Week Six and a Giveaway!

Week Six!  *whew*  I really knocked a lot of things off my list the first few weeks, and my progress then slowed waaayyy down.  I blame the two awesome quilt-a-longs that I couldn't helping joining.  However, I am soooo close to finishing my nine patch quilt.  I am hoping to come back later today and show you how it turned out!  This is my oldest and biggest unfinished project, so I can't wait to say it is officially done!

Also, I do have an awesome giveaway for you all today!  Bonnie of Fishsticks Designs is offering one reader a chance to win TWO of her PDF patterns! I first came across Bonnie's blog through Made By Rae's first Spring Top Week.  She made beautiful tops, and I have been a regular reader ever since.

Bonnie is also a talented pattern designer.  Go check out her etsy shop!  She offers several different patterns for both big and little kids.  Lots of fun, comfy knit patterns!  Her blog also has a number of great free tutorials and tips with how to sew with knits!

She offers several patterns for boys! (and good ones can be hard to come by!)

I love this sweet little top pattern for girls.  It just looks so comfy.  It comes in both little and big girls sizes!

A baby layette pattern! (Who could resist this picture?  So sweet.)

To enter to win two Fishsticks Designs patterns, you have two different chances.  You can choose to do just one or both

1.  Leave a comment letting me know what two patterns you would like!  You can find them here.

2.  Leave a comment letting me know if you finished or made any progress on a project this week!

Please do not forget to leave an email address!
I will leave this giveaway open until Thursday, August 4th!

Good luck everyone!

Finish It Up- Week Four

Can you believe it?  We are about half way done with this challenge!  Thank you to all who have joined!  I know I would have lost motivation very quickly, if I didn't have to report back to you all!  Sadly, I don't have any finishes this week.  I did get my nine patch quilt basted last night, so I am ready to start quilting.  This is my oldest unfinished project, and I am pumped to finally finish this off!  I am also working on getting my Fussy Cut Bee Blocks sashed.  Hopefully, I will have something pretty to show you next week!

1. Ruffle Clutch- Finished!
2. Inset Clutch- Finished!
3. Coaster Set- Finished!
4. Maxi Dress- Finished!
5. Sienna Dress
6. Swoon Mini Quilt- Finished!
7. Modern Meadow Quilt- Quilt Top Done! Waiting to go to the long arm quilter.
8. 9 Patch Quilt- Basted!
9. Pinwheel Blocks
10. Fussy Cut Bee Blocks- Top in Progress!
11. PJ Bottoms- Scrapped!

So how about a little Christmas in July picture instead?  My ruffle clutch was featured in Pink Chalk Fabrics newsletter.  If Kathy decides to feature your project, she sends you a $20 gift certificate to her shop!  Isn't that nice?!  So I picked out these two charm packs to make some Christmas pillows and maybe a table runner later in the fall.

So, this week I am offering a little giveaway!  Two patterns!

This sweet little dog pincushion pattern...

and this fun satchel pattern!

The Last Day of School

I don't know how it flew by so fast, but today was the girls' last day of school.  I now have a preschool graduate!  It really is amazing to look back on this past year and see how much both girls have grown.  Juliana is so ready to be in kindergarten.  I look at her and see a fine little girl growing before my eyes and not the cute chubby toddler I keep thinking she is. She has such a good, kind heart, and she tries so very hard to listen and learn.  She makes her mommy and daddy so proud.

I made fat quarter aprons for all the teachers.  I needed a quick project since I needed to make so many and kept debating what to make.  Then I remembered the apron Darci made me for a giveaway!  Who doesn't like an apron?  Plus, they were perfect for using up some of those more random fat quarters in my stash.  The tutorial can be found at Prudent Baby.  Juliana and I went to go find one of her teachers to give her the apron, and we found her crying in the closet. *sniff, sniff*  We were so lucky to have such wonderful teachers who so obviously care for our kids.

Giveaway winner:  Lucky #225!  I will be sending you an e-mail!  Thank you for all your lovely comments and entries!  I read them all, and some of you are so clever.  I was chuckling at some of your answers. ;0)

Nicey Jane Outfits and Giveaway Winners!

I completed two more outfits for Kids' Clothes Week last weekend- I promise! This past week has been craziness- at least it was fun craziness. *grin*

I made this Ice Cream Dress for Felicity. I made the second version of the dress, but only used two fabrics instead of three. The pattern was great and went together easily. It was a much easier dress to put together than the Birthday Party Dress. I am also in love with this colorway in Nicey Jane. I like the simplicity of the dress, and I think it makes a great everyday dress. I want to make a top for Juliana out of this pattern too. I can definitely see myself making this pattern a couple of times before tiring of it.

Now doesn't Felicity look like a little angel child? Rest assured getting this picture was a painful process.

Something more like this is what I got in most of my pictures...

I made Juliana a little shorts and ruffle top outfit. I used this tutorial for the top. I don't really know how I feel about this top. It looks cute in the picture, but it just doesn't seem as practical in real life.

I apologize in announcing my winners so late for the giveaway!

The winners are

#1- Lfinn
#2- Two Cheeky Monkeys
#3 Gale Kyquilter

Ladies, I am sending you all an email!

Baby Quilt

I have been so inspired by Crazy Mom Quilts with all the quilts that she makes from scraps and had a lot of fun participating in her first scrappy nine patch quilt-a-long. So I made another scrappy quilt for a baby. It is made entirely from scraps front and back except for the binding which is some Jennifer Paganelli Flower Power. I inserted some bigger pieces of fabric and kind of wished I just made a few more scrappy blocks instead, but this is only my third quilt, right?

This is my first time doing free motion on a quilt. It was hard! It definitely got easier as I went along, but I am glad I didn't try anything bigger than a baby quilt for the first time. I just did some little swirly things because whenever I have practiced stippling it just looks funky to me. I was really impressed with how the quilt just looked different though once I washed it.

I used some Amy Butler Love for the back from leftovers from some pillowcases I made. Love, love this line of fabric.

Also, the winner of the giveaway is Duff! Congratulations! I sent you an email, so please send me your address! Thanks to all who participated!

Birthday fun and giveaway winner!

I received some lovely birthday presents. I received my first Japanese sewing book, and I am in love! Isn't that elegant?

I am really digging both of these as well. I like the little tissue holder pouch that goes with the bag on the right.

This is the one I have fallen in love with though. I love messenger bags, and I think the little tie idea for the strap is genius!

Here is the front cover. I love the piping on the top and the ruffly look on the bottom one. My mom got this book for me from etsy seller PinkNelie. She has really lovely looking books!

My mom also made me a gorgeous Paris Traveler Bag. I carry this pattern in my shop. I love these Amy Butler prints, and I am so sad they will not be making this fabric anymore. She also made me a little laundry bag. I can not wait for my next trip!

Also, *drumroll* the winner of the giveaway was #7- Melina! Congratulations! I will be contacting you for your address!
